OH in Quartzglass

Until January 2018 I worked as Laboratory Manager/Sr. Analyst at the Specialglas Factory of Philips Lighting in Winschoten (Netherlands). Over the years I have lot of experience in measuring water in (quartz) glass. My experiences I have shared in a paper.

The OH content is an important parameter of quartz glass. Because there are different methods to measure and calculate the OH content, the ‘Philips Lighting method’ is presented in this paper. Hopefully, this paper sets a standard for the future (low) OH analyses in quartz glass.
